it's a bit overrpriced if u ask me, only because I'm not a big fan of the LA series. It's 100watts and goes for $300... If I were you I'd save up or bargain him down to $170

LA series is great. I went for a Workingman's 12, love it (But I paid $550 at the time, now its like 400 something). Def stick with SWR. Next chance I get I'm buying one of their amps.

not sure on price, but always talk em down if possible.

I have that Amp

I like it alot. It can get loud for one speaker. I also love its punchy tone.
I bought mine new for 275$ beause they guy at GC was generous. I can see it being sold used for 175 if its 2 years old. It depends on how much he played it though. If he really wants to sell it you can make him bring down the price

he's had the amp for 2 years but he never really used it cuz he kinda stopped playing bass not too long after his mom bought him this amp. so this amp good enough for small gigs?

Yeah. In my opinion, you need at least a 15 inch speaker to get yourself heard over the drums. Either that or an amp with multiple speakers. This one works fine for playing loud and clear.

is the tuner output in the amp used to be connected to a pa?

The tuner out is for the tuner, you run a cable from that to your tuner so you can see the tunning of your strings with out the amp muted!

But the SWR LA Serries is pretty reliable. And it should be able to do small gigs.

Yeah, you could out the signal to a mixer or effects and input that in the MIX in. Im asuming pa means pre-amp, and i dont own one so im not that knowledgeable about them.

the main use is so you can just have your tuner and play at the same time. But it can also be used as a post eq output

I got mine off a buddy for 145 (150, but I was missing 5 bucks). Good amp. I've done a few shows with it, miced and not miced. Solid amp, my only problem with it is that it doesn't have enough things to play with. lol. but that a small thing.
