I have a Fender P-Bass special, that I want to drop new pickups in. I really like the precision sound, but I also want to have the complete Jazz bass sound. What Im thinking of doing is cutting a new pickup slot in the neck position for the other Jazz pickup. In doing this, I would have a J/P/J setup.
In doing this, Im also going to have to get a new pickguard to accomodate the extra pickup. Do I need another knob, or can I run the volume for both Jazz pickups to the same knob?
Im just trying to figure out if the work for the extra pickup is really worth it. Or should I just get one really badass jazz pickup?
