Hey all...
I got a new rack for Christmas. I dont know which one it is, all I know is that its a Gibraltar. It has two curved pieces and a straight piece and came with 7 or 8 clamps. It was used and we got it for $199.99. Other than a few scratches, its in perfect condition. I dont really need it, but when I start to add on more cymbals, and more toms, I'll be glad I got it.

1. I know my hi-hats suck, but my parents promised that they would get me some Zildjian A-custom hi-hats as soon my dad could sell his vacation.
2. I know that my first toms head is upside down, but I'm too lazy to fix it. (I'll do it before my next gig)

Wait...what? Your dad has to sell his vacation? What does that mean? If you're dad is sacrificing a vacation so you can have better hi-hats...well...you better cherish your parents man.

not only that .. but your parents buy all your gear? ... wow, .. spoiled .. I buy almost eveyrthing, I get some clamps and stands and stuff for x-mas .. maybe a cymbal, .. but i choose it. But nothing when ever I want it, I work for my money and my gear, .. makes me feel good about myself after knowing I've spent my money on something worthwhile.

My dad has this plan at his work, that the vaction he dosent use over the year, he can sell for money. He says that If he dosent need to take off, then he wont. All those days that were given to him, can be sold. Yes, I do "cherish" them.

Nope. :p

They dont really buy me ALL of my gear. I payed for all the cymbals (except the hi-hat and the ride). The hats were given to me, and I just got the ride. I'm only 15, I cant get a job. Almost thought.

I got my first job at the age of 12...

There's nothing wrong with having your parents buy lots for you! :thumb: As long as you thank them and your thankful for it ;)

A positive side to buying your own gear though is that it demonstrates/improves your independence...

Yeah, my parents bought me my cymbals that I worked for (I had to have straight A's), and they're buying me a drumset as a christmas present. But, I bought my china, stand, and felts. Hey, it's a start.

nice rack. lolol

why does the rack look big?...Are they usually that weird looking? thought they usually hug one's kit...

what's wrong with big racks? and that isn't that huge i don't think. i think they look weird. they are useful however.

as long as you appreciate what your parents buy for you, there's no problem. it's damn kids that get whatever they want then trash it because they didn't buy it. *think of cousin, fumes*

Yeah, I dont just GET all this stuff. I straight A's most of the time. I cant seem to get a job, no one will hire a 15 year old around here. Not even people who need their grass cut.
