So I decided to come here and start a Highschool hockey thread were we can discuss our teams, incodents,amzing games,poor games, all that stuff, hope it works lol

St. Joseph Regional (Montvale, NJ). We're fourth in New Jersey I think.

Well in league play we're 3-0. We beat Pascack Valley 9-0, Mahwah 4-2 with a 3 man bench and, beat Indian Hills 9-2. In the Holiday tournament we lost to Bosco 5-1 and Stepinac 5-0. We're actually a really good team, but if we could've played somewhat like a team we would've beat Bosco and Stepinac, but they're losses, can't change 'em.

Yes, amazing thread. Now i can show off :) The Bantam Loyola Braves are 9-0 this year, undefeated in every game except one final in a tournament against Selweyn House. If you watch the Quebec Major Junior u probobly heard off Esposito. Well his brother plays fro Selweyn House and he was the only reason we lost. Im actually considered pretty good for my city hockey but im a 4th line checking/ penalty kill player. Scored 5 goals and 7 assi. in the 9 games which puts me 11th in team scoring. Pretty good. :) High school hockey rocks.

my high school is only varsity hockey, so I never bothered trying out even though I'd make it anyway. I had to choose between hockey and basketball since you can only play one sport at a time. Since im already playing hockey for my town I went with basketball, I might go for it next year though.

Nice g-tender. I play defense, so I don't deke people out much. But when I do it works. But it's more fun to give people that good solid pounding at the red line when they go for that home run pass.

well what happened was I was going for the puck to clear it and a player came at me so I did a spin with the puck and shot it down the Ice, I didnt like run out to the blue line and deak players out. Funny story actually, Last year Bantam AAA I chased the puck out to the blue line and when i was out tere a guy took it from me, soo I chased oafter him, and dove infront of him, tripped him, *he did almost a complete flip) only to find that he passed the puck away jsut before I triped him. I got up, elbowed the guy ine the face haha, took him out, but the puck slid to another guy, but one of my team mates pushed off the net. Then he got a penalty shot and hit the post. Its sad because not one word of that was a lie haha, my coach was pissed, until we won that game haha, I still got a big talking to about how far im allowed to go for the puck, then I calmly "the rules state the red line is my limit" and he was like "not according to my rules. Top of the circle and no further1" and I was like "Ill follw the refs rules" and almost got kicked off the team haha.

^^^ Haha nice. My goalie sorta did that. All day the defence had a **** *** day and couldnt give us one good breakout. So instead next time he got the puck behind the net he just started skating with it. THe other team took it off him but lucky goalie interference was called. Stupid penalty. Goalies dont need protection. Well except for the good ones. The bad ones can go get injured.

ps That goalie is now a back up. Wonder why.

Haha, Yeah, Last Game I went into the corner to get the puck when it was dumped down , I Missed the puck it hits the corner of the boards, bounces right beside/infront of the net, and a player was skating for it, so I booted er to the puck, got infront of it and the guy smoked me from behind, and got interference, I was pretty proud haha

Aren't football and hockey different seasons? So it shouldn't make a difference.

Football is pretty year round in most places. (Spring camp, summer and fall football, winter weight training)

I personally stick to the C hockey, I'm not a bad player at all, but I just prefer C hockey, however I'm contemplating trying out for A next year. I could make it if i got thinner, and, you know, cared. This year for me is a gong show, I can't score to save my life, and my team sucks...a lot. We've won 2 games the whole year...against the same team :upset:

I play football twice a year, though one is in the spring and doesn't interfere with anything. Here's what it looks like:

Hockey = September - March
Football = April - June
Football = August - November

So it wouldn't quite work for me, and where I would usually be playing hockey, I just strictly focus on off-season training for football. I like getting a month or two off as well, and with hockey, I'd be busy constantly.

We're 4-0 in the league now. We pretty much beat a varsity team last week. We beat the same team in a tournement 9-0, so they brought down juniors and seniors, we still won 4-1.
