From what kind of standpoint? Because they're all good in different contexts.
Easiest song? Best to improve with (in which case we'd need to know your current skill level? The most impressive to your average teen pop culture...?

Nobody's a moron here. It would be perfectly justified in many cases to suggest American Idiot for a certain group of players.
The best song to improve with all depends on the player (which is why we need to know the threadstarter's skill level before we can legitimately vote). Where you don't give a beginner Eruption to learn in their first lesson, you may give it to another, more experienced player that wishes to improve in the skills required for that song. Basically, you give them a song that suits their needs.
If someone has a hard time getting rhythm down, I'd be far more willing to direct them to American Idiot than say, Blitzkrieg, simply because the rhythmical focus is moreso in AI than in the other. When trying to master an aspect of your playing, you have to start simple. But if a song is far too simple, there is no challenge and when it is learnt the improvement level is quite minimal.

As far as improving I like to get the backing tracks off of
http://www.guitarbt.com/
they have a lot of songs and not having the guitar and vocal is a lot of fun, some a.s.s.h.o.l.e wrecked their site so the number is way down from what it was a few months ago, so check the site and you can request songs if there is something you really want.
As far a improve songs, I like stuff that has a lot of solo sections, Neil Youngs Cow Girl in the Sand is about 10 minutes and the solos are over a Am and F chord change.

It depends on what sort of music you eventually want to find yourself playing, as someone said above. If your favourite bands are Green Day and other punk bands then theres no real need to learn Crazy Train is there? I'd say ACDC would be the best because they give the best 'all round' playing, if that makes sense.
