Basswood in my opinion is the best sounding wood on the beginner sets. My Sonor 505 is on the way from MusiciansFriend, should be here by friday. It's one of the better beginner drumsets around, so if that's what your looking for, buy it.

Meh, its a good starter set yah, but if your intermediate, I wouldnt say you should go for it lol

well the advice that i can give is to save more money and get a bettter one but if u are just a beginner i can buy it soo good luck on it!!!1

Again... go with the Sonor Force 505. By the way your speaking, I can tell this will be your first drumset, and the 505 will suit you fine.
