So I havn't been playing very long, I got a second hand kit off my friend and need to replace the snare skin as it's busted. Is there any advice you can give me for going about it?
yup if you have the money ,....
Replace the top head and the reso head and put a new snarewire on it
get a puresound they are the best

This is a good plan. I'll just be replacing the top head at the moment as it's the main problem, but I plan on redoing the rest of it as soon as I have the cash.
K , so what head are you gonna buy?

Buy a Remo coated ambassador, you can't go wrong with it.

123, IMO those are the best heads for snares.....same with a reg coated g1.
coated amb/snareside amb or you could do coated g1/hazy200

what kind of snare is it?? wood or metal?.. if it is wood I would go for a coated amb.. If It's a metal snare, then go with the evans genera dry i would say.. lover of the genera dry :D:D

Any one-ply coated head will do for the top(Batter). I'd suggest Aquarian's Classic Coated, but anything'll do. Remo also makes great stuff.
