So I havn't been playing very long, I got a second hand kit off my friend and need to replace the snare skin as it's busted. Is there any advice you can give me for going about it?

This is a good plan. I'll just be replacing the top head at the moment as it's the main problem, but I plan on redoing the rest of it as soon as I have the cash.

Buy a Remo coated ambassador, you can't go wrong with it.

123, IMO those are the best heads for snares.....same with a reg coated g1.

coated amb/snareside amb or you could do coated g1/hazy200

what kind of snare is it?? wood or metal?.. if it is wood I would go for a coated amb.. If It's a metal snare, then go with the evans genera dry i would say.. lover of the genera dry :D:D

Any one-ply coated head will do for the top(Batter). I'd suggest Aquarian's Classic Coated, but anything'll do. Remo also makes great stuff.
