The only possible way that you could only have 20 songs on there is if you have the songs in CD format. Songs in CD format are usually 60-80 megs... that the only way I can think to explain it, but I wouldn't have any earthly idea how you managed to get cd audio onto an ipod

You can try looking for a wav to mp3 converter, and just convert all of your music. Try download.com and look for "Free Mp3 Converter". That is the title of the program, and it is a pretty easy one to use.

Yeah, I think I posted I'm going to return it, but if I didn't I never had a chance, I just got my iTunes working earlier on today and I was out until the computer store(it fixes electronics) was closed so I never had a chance to go see what was wrong with it.

Macintosh is out of date, sucky-***, bull****.
I have a compaq laptop which retails for $1,700
specs are
3.4 ghz AMD athlon 64 processor
ATI Radeon 256 200M graphics card
Widescreen HD 15.4" monitor
and of course Windows XP (a wonderful OS even if it does fail sometimes)
Apple desktop with these specs.
1.7 ghz bull**** processor
128 crappy graphics card
without monitor
and of course, it's apple, so only one available and horrible stupid OS.
retails for about $2,300
OK... same store, same day, no joke. CompUSA it was, and I was appalled.
This further's my hate of Apple, because they think that they can get away with just being trendy.
The only reason they stay in business is because of their grants and deals with school systems and certain businesses.
Here's something to mull around in the ole noggin.
When a PC monitor fails, it's usually the monitor. Just replace it...

When an Apple monitor fails, it usually because of the system. Your ****ed.

The Apple proccesors are stronger than PC's so they have a lower number.
That's incorrect. The Apple processors don't have a lower number because they are stronger... It's because they are dual. Two processors running in tandem. But Intel Hyperthread technology surpasses that by running a 3.4 ghz processor that acts like a dual processor.
Apples were designed for applications like Photoshop and for doing other various picture editting.
When PCs surpassed them with the technology to do more advanced 3d work:
i.e. 3D Studio Max, Maya, and the other high end rendering software, They took control. If you can edit 3d, then obviously 2d becomes much easier to edit.
Once PC took control of that market, Apple lost everything going for them.
If an Apple is taking 2 hours to render something, the PC has done it in 1 hour and 10 minutes. Time is money... this is researched fact
Plus, this is just me being picky, but their stupid interface and mouse is to damn clunky.

This is karma for buying an Ipod. Everyone's so obsessed with them because they look all ultra-modern, yet they don't realize that they're paying too much for a lousy player. Go with Creative, they have some great stuff. I have a Creative Zen Touch, and it's great.
moogoogaipan
12-27-2005, 06:28 PM
mp3 players are inherently flawed because of the damn hard-drive.
Right now, iPods nano are the only marketed player with a flash drive.
I had a Jukebox Creative Labs Zen Xtra, but its harddrive ****ed up one morning and I hadn't done anything at all other than pick it up.
Then the following school year, I had to get an iPod for school curriculum (I dont' know why) and it's done me good for a year, but I don't support apple in the least. all my iPod accessories are made by offbrand companies.

12-27-2005, 07:10 PM
I hate to break it to you but the ipods are again and again badass mp3 players. The new nano is the first to have such monstrous flash based memory, and look so damn good.
As well as having great interfaces(now trying to be copied), sound quality,so many accesories, and so much support in car/home audio. Now price wise, hey, thats where you decide what best fits your needs, but dont knock the ipod, it owns the portable mp3 market. Probably the biggest complaint that i hear from ipods is the ****ty itunes, but then again there is 3rd party software available(which can be aquired as easily as the music your stuffing into the players themeselves).

I just got one of the newest iPods, a black 60 gig that can play videos, photo, and music, and mine works great for me. I know quite a few different people that own ipods from earlier generations, and a friend of mine just recently got a nano, and all of their's have worked great for them. The only downside I can see to the iPods is the lithium battery, which will eventually die out after so many charges/uses. Other than that I think they're great but if you want to hate Apple and their products go ahead. I won't hold a grudge.
moogoogaipan
12-27-2005, 10:41 PM
the models I was comparing were that stupid as G5 and a regular Compaq Presario.
There's also so many things that Apple does that just infuriates me.
for example...
all the music on iTunes is designed to only work on players in the iPod family... what the **** were they thinking. My friend used iTunes and we were gonna use some music to soundtrack our work and nothing recognizes the mp4 format that apple uses.
They are just like that goddamn Matroska. They try and take over the market by making their product extremely exclusionary so that you have to look everywhere to find the right thing to make their product work for you.
It's ridiculous... these companies can suck a penis... stick to a standard because all these other companies manage to get along fine with it... apple is a cult, just go read about it. PC is so free and open... you can do what you want... even install different OS, but mac is like a close minded society of vampires trying to suck every last pennie out of you by overpricing all of their trendy products which aren't really that trendy.

maybe they were thinking that if someone has itunes, it's because they have a player in the iPod family for it to work with, and if they don't then they can get Napster or some other music download program just as easily. Not to mention if you were looking at the business aspects it could only benefit them.

Its all about the image. Everyone wants them so that they can look cool. I;d rather stick with sony for their battery life and Extremely good sound quality. By far the best audio quality ive herd among the big name mp3 brands.
