Can this computer run a 6800GS graphics card. The dumb guys at the dell support center say no, but i beg to differ. can it?

It's not as I don't believe they make the 6800GS in AGP, that Dell has 1 AGP 8x slot and the 6800GS is a PCIE card.

I have a Dimension 4600. You can still get some very capable AGP cards for it, as you know. Mine is a p4 2.8. Stock power supply. Runs my 6600GT just fine. Not the best card, of course. But you get the picture.

Goddamit, yes! Though you might need another power supply. What is your processor speed.

Yeah, that will work fine. Nice price. I paid that much for my 6600GT a few months ago. Don't know much about the XT model, but REINER can tell you. Reviews look good. You and I have the same processor, I have a feeling. It'll do well in your computer. Gig of RAM would do you well, too. If you don't already have it. And check the PS recommendations.

thanks. i'm upgrading to a gig, infact i just ordered a card today that will bring me to a gig. btw, are putting these things in hard?

6800 is available in AGP, 7800 however, isn't.

And just about all ATIs are available for AGP.

I'm sorry. Really, I am. I don't know how they could sell those things. No AGP slot! What a sham....
