So, I went on chistmas vacation to see my family in Arizona(still there, borrring.)and with money I had saved and got for christmas, guess what I found at the AZ GC in Tempe?!
Its a fretless carvin 4, 432.32 USD including tax and hard case made specially for it, it was used thought found in the back. The bass is also used, and theres no model or anything on it. So, heres some pics, can anyone ID it for me? Plays like a dream and I am now in love with fretless!

Well it is glorious. The D is pretty cool, I don't need it so much really. I think i brought it up in that 5 or 6 string metal band thread. hehe. So, its ebony fretboard? what do you think the body is, and the neck. Theres a seem on the neck where it connnects...could that be neck through or is definetly glued? After playing this dream, I think I'm gunna be a fretlesswhore :p
PS who wants to start the mx carvin club? =-D

It's probably neck-through. As far as I know, all Carvins except the B4 and B5 are neck-through.

Is like playing a neck made of butter with rubber strings, and it sounds like what I have been searching for as far as tonewise lately, with more options. I need to get hope and mess with my amp eq more, the amp I'm on just cuts out randomly.

I have one in black, it's an lb70f (if it is a neck through and active) I believe the passive bass is the lb20. The body shape is stock, without the rounding option.
They don't come stock with EMGs. The tuner was an option, though. The fret lines were also an option.
great find, mine was 999 new and I love it.

watch ebay, the resell value on them is horrible so you can pick one up relatively cheap.

Thanks for congrats, and I dunno if I could play it well without fretlines. If I turn into a Jaco type player I could always get another or have those removed.

I'll tell you what, if your bass is half as good as my Carvin fretless (which I'm sure it is) you have one hell of a bass on your hands.
I guess you can show you pictures of mine. Just took em today

we're leaving tomorrow, and the dog is a lab, so he just pees on the floor when he sees someone new. Don't you have a new P to play? and where's your old account?

Alright, dog sounds good, new P is nice, and old account got hijacked.

mine has always had rounds on it, and I have always slapped it. That neck holds up very very nicely.

Well to be fair, Jaco had fretlines because he defretted his own bass.
On the other hand, I think he was all in favor of them.
I personally think that unlined boards look beter, but if fret lines help you play I see nothing wrong with that.

After I emailed Carvin they couldn't help. They said there was no such serial number. Now, unless the serial on the jack is from a totally different jack, it says that the bass could be from 90-94, and after headstock examination, im thinking 90-91, which is so cool to have a bass thats possibly 15 years old.
