Today I went to Guitar Center and played on the Gretsch Catalina Club kit. I really liked the way it sounded and the size of it, and im considering selling my Pacifix CX kit to get it. I figure I could get around $600 for it since all the heads, including resonant once have been changed on it. What do you guys think?

edit: the Catalina Club kit was on sale for $550

You want to sell your kit for more than your next kit is worth?
Why shouldn't the buyers just buy themselves a catalina club?

because maybe they want a pacific cx instead of a catalina?

some people would say the CX is better than the catalina club, so why would they wanna buy the catalina?

CX's=maple
Gretsch=not maple, mahogany, I think?

Some people want different sounds, and those are different sounds.

Depends, some people like the sound of mahogany over maple. And for his purposes, this kit might be more practical.

yea exactly. i can fit my whole CX kit in my Ford Focus, but the Catalina Club would fit much easier. (and soon i might need to be driving my kit back and forth from my house to a practice space once a week.) I was also playing the kit with evans genera g2 coated heads (the ones i currently used) and did kind of like the sound better. im just having a hard time trying to ffind someone who would wanna buy a CX around here. I'd rather not use ebay because of thats some major shipping right there.

heck if i had a bit of cash, i might consider takin it off ya (if u were in phoenix)

the cost of shipping is no prob, u just pass the cost to the buyer. the BIG problem is the actual packing of it. takes forever to unpack. imagine how long it takes to actually pack it :lol: thats why local pickup is so preferred
