cool...now you're a real drummer...:p
hmmm...yeah...you can cut a hole in the front to let some of the air out so there isnt much compression...try about making it about 6 inches in diameter...
but first...trying putting something in it...what we use alot are pillows and those egg carton type cushining that people use to sleep on...the good thing with that is you are able to wrap it all the way around unlike a pillow, where it just settles at the bottom...but try different amounts of it to see if that'll give you what you want...
how hard are you pounding it?

haha...i guess you can use towels...but pillows would b better...but its not really egg cartons...it what people use on their bed to help with their back pain...you just wrap it around on the inside...
if you were to cut the hole...i would suggest taking it off so it'll be sturdier when you cut it...

Lews, I've played Coffee's GT-7, and I prefer my GTBD-7. The string spacing is slightly wider at the nut I think. The tonal options are also better on the BD.

I don't mind some metalcore, but its nearer to the new wave of American heavy metal that I'm liking. Trivium, that kind of thing. Its really more metal than metalcore IMO.

i just read that :thumb:
i was looking at the gtbd-7 too, but i liked the gt better because:
-wenge>maple
-i dont like/want active electronics, so the 4 holes drilled in the bass would be more easily filled by passive electronics (2v2t) than the 6 or w/e on the BD bass.
-its cheaper (only a few hundred ontop of $1k+, but its enough)

Edge isn't a rebellion. That's the thing.
The people who try to rebel using it are the fashionXcore kids. Who don't deserve to be talked to.

Edge isn't a rebellion. That's the thing.
The people who try to rebel using it are the fashionXcore kids. Who don't deserve to be talked to.
I don't expect everyone to get along with my points of view though. I had the exact same attitude long before I came across edge. It just happens that it coincides with it and everything :)

Why do you need to be a member of a group to support something?

TBH, I'm hardly part of a group. I don't know anyone else who is infac straight edge.
To be honest, its more of a throwaway term than it has ever been, and it is mostly used by me to explain what/who I am without having to just explain 'No, I don't drink, no I don't smoke' etc, and explaining why. Saves me hassle.
I do however like the ideology to it though. The idea behind it that it was showing that these punk people could have a voice and they were completely dry. Their words weren't those of the 'stereotypical yob', and they maybe carried some weight.
However, the words don't carry any weight to be honest, and people being people, there were still straight edge yobs. And they can be some of the most violent :/
Meh.

Hmm I am pretty much a fun loving music student. ;)
I sometimes smoke weed but I have no interest in harder drugs, I am still baffled as to why cannabis is illegal and yet other more harmful things are legal. However I am speaking of in moderation. Smoking weed every so often like once every few weeks or so is going to cause very little damage in the long term. Smoking it every day of course seriously ups the chances of damage to yourself. But anyway, the arguements for legalising cannabis are already well known so I am not gonna get into it.

The X on the hand is THE symbol of straight edge.
Does it need explaining?
In the hardcore shows in the 80's in the DC area, they were putting on all age hardcore gigs. Anyone under the legal drinking age had their fist marked with a black X so they couldn't get served at the bar. The edge kiddies purposefully marked themselves up with the X as a statement, and it gre from there. This is why you'll see a lot of straight edge people with X tattoos, and is where the x's come from in all the straightXedge and hardXcore etc come from, even though most of them have no relation to edge except being hardcore (its mostly seen in all the emo kids' myspace profiles nowadays though ¬_¬).
TBH, I see straight edge as trying to respect your body and put as little harmful stuff in as possible, so I wouldn't think that tattoos and piercings would be a popular thing (you know, stabbing yourself up with inky needles? Making holes in your face?), but you know those crazy hardcore kids...

Yeah, which translates as: For dumbasses who don't know what latency is, Cubase doesn't "do it all for you". But it's still powerful enough to get rid of it.
It's like using a program with keyboard shortcuts...if you don't learn how to use them, you're not going to notice any advantage but that doesn't mean the software isn't capable of being faster. It just means you're a lazy arsehole who should send me a lot of money.

Noice, my dad has a digital piano, a yamaha clavinova that is 20 years old :p Not a bad piano though, I'm sure you can get way better ones these days on the cheap.
I got a load of books and about five hundred and fifty quid in total. I am thinking of getting an ashdown combo and an fx unit of some sort. There is this great boss unit that I forget the name of... Coffekiller has it and so does Wintermute...
I still don't remember mentioning going to Norway to you... My brain hurts! (Mr Gumby Style)
I better head off, I prob won't be back on for a while, so have a great new year all!
Bye!

Steve: ME-50b or something?
And don't buy the Ashdown! This may just be me, the only Ashdown hater here seemingly, but hey. Buy Roland instead :p
Merry Cthulhumas and a Happy Nyarlathotep though Steve (and everyone else. Possibly Bob if he's nice to me for once)!
:)

With a new Fu Manchu album.

Anyone know what I should do about my other account getting jacked? It's not like he spammed, he actually posted normally, except he backtalked a mod. Don't ask me why he bothered to steal my account to post like a normal person.

your not, its so that he doesn't use it again/more and cause more trouble. as soon as you get it back change the password
