hey guys i just bought an epiphone G-400 (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=home/search/detail/base_pid/518291/) off ebay. It's got a hardtail bridge and grover tuners, 24.75 inch scale. ive had it for about two weeks, and the top three strings keep going out of tune. I don't know what strings were on when i got it, but I just put ernie ball super slinky .09s on them yesterday and they still go out of tune. This is a terrible problem, as i cannot go more than five minutes without the strings going out out of tune. I'm guessing it would be the tuners, but I thought Grover tuners were nice, reliable tuners... anyone have an idea as to what it could be or what i could do to fix it?? thanks.

You need to stretch you strings, do you do that? my guitar with grovers literally never go out of tune.

no, you gotta stretch 'em.

pull up on them while holding at the first fret. firmly but not too hard. it should lower in pitch. tune it back and repeat till it does not go out of tune when you tug on it.

they are real Grovers, they say "Grover" on them... and the strings are stretched, its only the G, B, and e strings that go constantly out of tune.
