View Full Version : In ear monitors....Shure e2c
So i recently figured out how to monitor myself with my ME-50b, and need to as well. I play with a jazz choir, in a situation where im behind my amp, which is a good 25 feet from me. I can never hear myself over the keyboard (whose amp is between me and my amp). I CAN feel what im playing, but it would be more benifitial to my playing to HEAR myself.
That said, does anyone know of some well priced (50-150 USD) in ear monitiors, specifically ones you have tried?
I am currently looking at the Shure e2c model, and i have heard good things from these.
Id also like to use them as regular headphones, btw.
Thanks.

You could get by with any headphones/earphones.

Not neccesarily, most head/earphones do not have very good direct bass response. they usually roll off on the bass frequences that are not altered using overtones and the like. Any earphone (2 pairs, one sony the other phillips) ive tried with the board dont give me enough sound.

True enough, but how good of a sound quality do you need if only you can hear it? I mean, it's just for monitoring levels and correct frequencies...am I right?

I HATE IN-EAR MONITORS!!!!
I guess I'm old school or whatever but I like to hear my amp. I didn't buy a Trace Elliot rig to hear it over headphones.

I dont need to monitors for my normal band. I need them for the Jazz Choir i play with. I end up being about 30 feet behind my amp, with a keyboard amp between me and it. The only way i know what im playing is by sight and feel.
Oh, and im buying the shures tommarrow or thursday, ill do a review of them.
