i just need to know what screws to adjust to raise the saddles and which way to turn them to get rid of the fret buzz.. and all this rattling

Probably truss rod problems. Which if you don't know how to do you shouldn't mess with. Bring it to a shop, they shouldn't charge that much.

If you really want to do it yourself, try this.

Hold your bass up, and look down the neck. It hsould have a slight bow towards the middle (between frets 5 and 12, i believe). Not much, just a little bit. Some prefer their necks perfectly straight (i do), so that is acceptable too. If the neck is in neither of those two conditions (eg it has a large bow to it, the bow is right at the nut-end of the neck) take it to a shop.

Now, adjusting the saddles is quite different from bridge to bridge. Most have screws that go perpendicular to the string, usually allen heads, and they go down through the saddles and hit the body/metal plate underneith. Thats what you adjust if you feel so inclined.

Id not recomend you doing a truss rod adjustment yourself, though, as you can mess it up fairly easy.

I guess right to tighten would raise it.

Just go and try it slowly.

Detune your strings a little first, then you're very unlikely to break it.

Please don't ignore enim's post, your problem is more likely a truss rod problem then a bridge saddle problem.
