Here's a solo.
I decided to make it simplistic to try and work on phrasing rather than speed.
I've learned after recently recording many of my practice sessions, that I sometimes have trouble phrasing because I will have a musical idea in my head and then it switches and sometimes the feel isn't the same. So take a listen and comment please.

Liked the use of dynamics, makes brush work very effective, as well as using the different sounds you can get from the brushes hit at different spots on the drum.

I don't think there was too much of a problem with the phasing - had a nutural flow to it, and you didn't jump around that much, I wouldn't worry about that. Sometimes it can make for interesting solos if you do mix it up a touch... think Soul Sacrifice by Sanatana @ Woodstock, (what's that guys name?) - he breaks things up (especially when he goes to the cross-stick part), imo keeps things interesting by changing flow (but maintaining tempo).

Cheers!

I appreciate the time you took to listen. I don't know what the deal it, but everytime I post any audio, I never get any responses.
I don't know if there is a certain etiquette to presenting audio or if it's just that painful to listen to.
Anyway, Thank You

Lol, I get the same. Usually i've bumped it more than there are replies. Yet DBJ for example posts audio and it gets like 3 pages, ok, he is awesome, but I wish people would check out the audio more, we put time into recording it etc.

Anyway Im just waiting for this song to finish then I will listen..

Yeah, lots of dynamics. I liked the various patterns that you came up with. Very musical.

Are you joking? I couldn't stop moving to it. Well at least until the bassdrum started playing crotchets, I felt that ruined it a bit.

yea, I agree, that funk groove was awesome, although i think more Latin than funk really, but whatever...

However, I'm not too crazy about the brush solo...

It doesn't seem to have that nice flow and almost melody that a lot of good solos have...

That's really hard to do with brushes, and there were definitaly some really good ideas in there, but overall I wasn't too crazy about it.
