View Full Version : Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Seeing as this game has quite a fan base.. (Well, me, Magical Mystery Tour, Pop Music Sucks, and infinate_ammo anyway) let's have a thread about it.
I've been playing it basically nonstop, it's so great.
How far are you on campaign?
How many medals do you have?
Which COS have you unlocked.
I'm on mission 18, I have 5 medals and I unlocked the first 2 Green Eart medals earlier today.

I have about 150 medals and unlocked almost every CO, I was trying to do everything but now I havent even touched the game since Mario Kart came out. With the constant stream of good games I havent had a chance to go back to Advance Wars.
Last time I played I was trying to get an S rank on every mission, in normal, but got stuck on 23 or 24.
Just wanted to add, whats everyones favourite track in this game? I can just sit there for hours and listen to the "Green Earth Theme" or "For the Sake of Omega Land".

I have a measly 20 medals.
I'm gonna start a new campaign, or check out the other features.
11 medals, now. I'm on the mission on Campaign where you have to blow the satellite out of the sky, but I'm having trouble. Help?
got mario kart on x-mas, but got advance wars today. really fun, definitely will be spending a lot of time with this one.

On stage 22 of campaign, completed combat on normal/hard and all 3 survivals on normal, about 30 - 50 medals. I need to play it more...

I was never a fan of the Advance Wars games, but I do have Batallion Wars on GC, which is made by the same developers, and that is mint.

Batallion Wars on GC, which is made by the same developers
Advance Wars was developed by Intelligent Systems who are responsible for games/series such as Fire Emblem, Metroid, Panel de Pon (aka Tetris Attack/Pokemon Puzzle League), Donkey Kong and Wario Ware.
Batallion Wars was developed by Kuju Entertainment who are responsible for games/series such as Eye Toy Play, Train Simulator, Club Football 2005 and Cresent Suzuki Racing.
This is why people tend to talk about the AW games more than BW

Im pretty sure they are the same Franchise, the graphical and artistic styling are nearly identical, even down to calling your characters COs.
Can you play this on Wi-Fi?
I liked the first one, so I might get this. The online would be an added bonus.

Because Nintendo owns the series, but they got Kuju to do Batallion Wars whereas they got Intelligent Systems to do the 6 main games in the series (and Hudson Soft did a couple of the GB/GBC sequels). I'm not saying that BW isn't set in the AW universe, I'm saying that it's similar to talking about Mario's Wacky Worlds in a Super Mario Bros 3 thread or Zelda's Adventure in a LTTP thread or something.

Nope
The multiplayer is still great though, as is the map editor

The Metroid games are made by Retro Studios and the Donkey Kong games are now made by Nintendo themselves, nothing to do with Intelligent Systems. :p
I really do love Dual Strike though. I'm not very far into it though; I'm on the mission where you fight against 2 COs at once for the first time.

I was referring to the main Metroid trilogy and the original DK game but OK
