I got hold of 10,12 and 14 skins this week, Emperors. Kitted them all up and did some tuning to them. Now the thing is, the 10 and 14 resonate a lilthe more then the 12'. Ive tried tightening it but the 12 still sounds more dead then the other one. I dont think the 12' is cracked or anything as when i blow air into the port on the drum, ait doesnt leak from the skins....HELP!!!

sure its not your reso heads......

^^^ could be the tuning of ur reso heads or you might not have seated the 12" properly...try taking it off then back on again and seat it.

Try tightening the reso if the batters are all tuned the same.

Done that..still sounds kinda the same... o well will get a friend to check it out for me!

Take em off the stand and fine tune, you've gotta experiment with tuning.

Keep at it and you'll find your tone.

12" toms suck! mine also doesnt resonate as much at the same tunings my other toms..takes a ton longer to tune that reso

i had the same problem...but now i only use 10" and 14" toms, although when i get a 16" im going to use the 12" and 16" only because i like the deeper tone,

i dont know anything new to say to help you but what ever
