For xmas i'm getting my bass professionally set up. What exactly happens???
I know they sort out your action, sand your frets (?) but what else?

change strings, clean it, innotate it, check the neck...basically, make it playable...

depends what you ask them to do, usually they'll just check everything is fine, action, neck, electronics and adjust them accordingly
