If I were you I'd check out Ashdown. Very, very good amps for the price! Are you intending to use this amp for practices or gigs?

definetly gigs. problem is though, i've used ashdown amps and didn't like them. to be fair, i've never used combos, and the heads i used were prettfy f*cked, so yeah, i'll keep an open mind over them.

50 to 70 watts isnt enough for a gig, unless you are just going to play at a cafe, or something like that

laneys are good amps as long as your going to be playing rock music on a 4 string bass.
allso 75 watts should be enough for a small gig as long as your guitarist doesnt turn his amp up stupidley loud and as long as your through a pa as well.

I would be hesitant to buy an amp with "hardcore" in it.

i got one of the amps in that series the 160w. I know you said 50-75watt but surely the extra power for about the same price is worth it. i recommend this amp it has good features like the 7 band eq bass and treble.

This is the link for it and the site i got it from.

Hope that helps in some way :thumb:

^ I also have that amp, I've used it in a gig before.

I used it through a boost amp, but the guy who played before me used it without one, so its plenty loud enough.

mmm iv played through that at a gig before - i thought it was **** to be honest.

great for the price! but as amps go.... not so great.

Have a look at the Ashdown MAG series.... there are mixed feelings on here about them, but mostly they seem good and iv only ever had good experiences.... otherwise look secondhand... there are some great amps around in the UK... loadsa combos like the marshall b150, laney's r4 and r5 (now they are good), hundreds of peavey combos which are built like tanks (great for gigging)...

its an alright amp and it works and everything, but it doesnt sound like anything special... and isn't particularly well built to be honest... but you cant really expect too much for the price... add another £100 and your into a different league

Exactly, i really like ashdown, nice and cheap, and an over abundance of sound, they do alot with a little money, they arent the bass, but you can get some good **** from them.
