well, christmas is here and i am now the owner of neil pearts new DVD "anatomy of a drum solo". so far ive only watched through "element 1" which is the opening electronic part. its pretty sweet but i think im gonna watch disk 2 before i finish 1. i was watching it for 30 min. and got 2 min. into the solo, so i have a lot of time left in the exploration of it.
EDIT:i forgot to tell everyone who likes rush to get it and if you have it, discuss the amazingness of it.

I asked for it for Christmas..but instead I got a coke box with a soap box, with a sheet of paper that said "Anatomy of a drum solo when it comes out".

its pretty sweet. i watched most of disk 2 last night. Lorne has a ton of crap to memorize when he sets up the kit. nothing on the riser is marked.
also, after hearing the counterparts tour solo, you can really tell he basically took the main points of that and O Bastira(sp?) and combined them for the r:30 solo.

These reviews are pretty accurate:

Tim played on someone else's kit and didn't get the right feel for it and he also plays like he's not warmed up.The dvd itself also has the "basement" kinda feel to it...very grainy and its hard to hear what Tim is saying in the commentary. He also plays the easiest Primus songs( My Name is Mud,Jerry was a racecar driver,Spegetti Western) on this dvd.Not that that's a bad thing...I was just hoping some of his harder fills would be broken down.
