I just got this pedal, the dunlop bass wah 105Q and i cant figure out how to get a wah tone like this sound clip. http://jimdunlop.com/products/electronics/crybaby/products/105q/index.html It doesnt seem to make much change in tone or a wah effect at all.

Are you actually utilising the foot pedal?

Did you adjust the knob(s) on the pedal?

If you move the pedal back in forth there's no reason why it shouldn't be working..Unless its defected.

That recording has pretty bad tone for a start. It should be easy to get a tone like that and more from it. Try and make sure the Volume knobs on the pedal and your amp are both about the middle, then turn the EQ on the pedal clockwise. Just noodle about the high end and play with it. It's an awesome pedal (or at least mine was till it broke! )

Like everyone else said, make sure volume and Q knobs are up (to a degree where you can actually hear things). I keep the Q knob all the way up, so you might try that.

I find the 105Q to have trouble with lower strings (B and E strings). I try to compensate with higher treble in my bass' EQ.

If all that fails, it could be broken.

edit: Also, I'm pretty sure he's slapping in the sound clip. It seems that the wah has more affect on a slapping technique than a finger technique.
