Why the hate for Hakim?

Anyways....

Testament are a great example of this....they've housed just about all of the thrash metal greats, from John Tempesta to Dave Lombardo. Even Gene Hoglan was with them for a bit. Another metal example that immediately springs to mind would be, of course, Death. Any band that has been graced with Sean Reinert, Gene Hoglan, AND Richard Christy is alright in my book.

On to jazz, you can't possibly speak of any lists like this without bringing up Miles Davis. Roach, Philly Joe, Tony Williams, Dejohnnette, Jimmy Cobb...the list goes on. For your fusion, you can't go wrong with Weather Report.

Heh...technically, they've also had Gene Hoglan (fill in during Sounds of the Underground).

True and when I went to see them they had this awesome Swedish guy who's also named Martin, but never got his last name. He was great. Met him (and the rest of Opeth) after the show.

When did Les Claypool work with Stanton Moore? (What project or albums?). Because that sounds like a Hott combo.

Steve Vai: Greg Bissonette, Virgil Donati, Mike Mangini, and many many more.
Which records had Bissonette on them? I just got two of his video's from drummerworld, and he seems like a really flexible drummer. I'd really love to hear more of his work.

On the Hudson DVD sampler that pretty much circulated the entire world, there is an excerpt from Greg's DVD where he is breaking down a drum part for a Steve Vai piece he wrote when he was playing with him. I don't know which album it's from, but the track is called 'Noah's Ark'.

When Claypool was working his Frog Brigade project he was working with some guys that also played on Stanton Moore's new album so apparently they ended up jamming together in the studio.

I went to jambands.com and all I could find was this:

Steve Vai also has Jeremy Colson. I don't know if anyone else here likes him, but the man has chops. And he knows how to use them. With a passion.
