I have a 2 crash one ride one china setup(I have second ride but don't have stand yet and one china stacked over my big one). I barely have room for one more cymbal, how do you make room to have like 7 8 cymbals, I want to get a couple of bosphourus and instanbul cymbals from cymbals only but I don't think I'll have space, what do you do to make space

i guess it's just experimentation on your part...it's hard for us to help you without picutures of hte room where your drumset is

Okay I'll try explain how it is the best I can. I play a conventional 5 peice with the hats normally for right hand crossed. My ride cymbal is almost verticle inbetween my first tom and hat where the crash normally would be. My vault crash is in a straight line between my snare and hats so the order would be in a line, snare hats crash and its pretty high up. My other crash is where the ride normally would be, then I have my chinas mounted competely flat a little above my floor tom so like 1/4 of the floor tom is covered by my chinas.

oh, well without a picture i'm going to do my best....try to move your vault crash over to the left a little to make room for another cymbal in between where it is and where your ride is...ride's are normally pretty low set so you could probably fit another cymbal above the ride....

No, if I move my crash to my left its going to be behind me and the ride is verticle so the top of it is really high, the only free space is in front of my bass drum like over my toms

oh i didn't realize it was right beside your hats....well you could put a cymbal in front of your bass over the toms there...and if you dont want a stand in front get a boom

I think I'm going to have to mount them all at the same angles to make more room.
if you're really stuck, you could go with two different lines of height, like one line of cymbals relatively low, and then another row of cymbals above them.
Also, cymbal stackers.

Get half life in here. He has a five peice and a crap load of cymbals. He can hook you up with some pics, he likes whoring his kit anyway.

Get a cymbal stacker. The one i have fits to the top of my tama cymbal arm which i already had.

you really just have to experiment with your setups. i have a new setup everytime i get new gear(usually).

I have like 11 cymbals. I just swap out the ones I feel are apropriate or the ones I'm feeling at the time.

for one, rides are usually as flat as your hats/toms. as you should have it flat for the same reason you have your toms flat. secondly, raise your crashes and (your ride too i suppose) up abit, and line your splashes and smaller china's, bells etc under them. move your chinas and place them off to your right so its not like your supposed to be crashing them all the time. put your second ride where the chinas used to be. then just place all your crashes...its not hard

If you desperatly can't find room because of the size of your room, or if you are planning on getting quite a bit more cymbals you may want to consider a rack.
