I recently got a "new" set of DTX Express III drums for Christmas. Problem is, they seem used. My question now is should I take them back tomorrow, or not. Money isn't the problem, it's just the fact that they may be damaged. My only problem I can see is that the kick drum's mat is indented and highly used. I have pictures here to show it. Is this reasonable wear or abuse/too much use to work?

Take it back and discuss it with them. I am sure they will help you. If the pad is dented, then that should warrant a much cheaper selling price.

I got a 'new' set of HHX stage hats a while back but they seemed used but cleaned.

I just kept them though as I got them for half price and loved the sound.

Was it sold as like new or new?

I got it all set up, and I love it. Here's some pictures:

Any ideas about changing my position of each drum? My current setup is a bit messed up it seems.

Hmmm...Yeah ok.

Take it back and demand they charge you 'demo' price as opposed to 'new' price.

With placement, I say the pads are waaaaaaay too spread out. Bring them all in, as if it were a real kit.

Did you pay full retail price? If so I would bring that sucker back right away.It looks like other people have definitely been trying YOUR model out.

I went back today and they were great. They apoligized over and over, offered me a COMPLETELY brand new kit, a free shirt, two nice sets of drumsticks for a low price ($14 total), and I get to keep the current kit until they ship the new one here.

That's cool. Most people/stores aren't that nice.
