So I just got a hold of the Flogging Molly cd Within a Mile of Home. It's mad good. I now demand Irish punk dicussion.
I like old Dropkick, especially Do or Die.
Based on this cd, I like Flogging Molly better than Dropkick.
I LOVE the Pogues. I have a a few, my favourite is If I should Fall with Grace from God. Absolutly amazing. Not to mention that Shane has a sick set of chompers.
I want to check out the Tossers. Anyone know if they're any good?

Stiff Little Fingers is the best Irish punk band ever.

The Tossers are pretty good. I've seen 'em live once. :D
You may like Flatfoot 56. I've also seen them live at Riot Fest, which they have a video of on their website. http://www.flatfoot56.com/
Anyone able to upload the Riot Fest video someplace else for me? It doesn't work for me on the website. :(

Yes, definitely Stiff. The Pogues are probably up there for one of my favourite bands. Especially around Christmas, 'fairytale of new york' is appropriate.

Stiff Little Fingers rule, but they don't sound like the other bands mentioned.

I've had winamp rotate The Pogues- If I Should fall from.... and Trans-Siberian Orchestra- The Christmas Attic all day.
And for the mostpart, I enjoy the pogues album a hell of a lot more.

I don't know much about how good the Tossers are, but they're coming to town next month, so I'll go check them out.

WAMOH is Flogging's least good (not worst, thats too negative) album so if you like that, you'll love everything else. Seeing the Tossers soon and seeing FM for the 4th time in Febuary.

SLF aren't really that celtic influenced though. I love them.
I really don't like the Tossers, they don't sound like anything that new. Floggin Molly has a more gentle celtic type sound, and DKM have an edgier more street punk sound and Tossers just kind of combine that and don't really have their own thing. I'm not a big fan.

I don't know why, but I've never been able to get into Flogging Molly. However, The Pogues totally own my pants.
They may not be celtic, but yes, Stiff Little Fingers rule so f'ing hard.

Swagger and Drunken Lullabies both beat the hell out of Within A Mile of Home.
I'm going to see the Tossers on the 30th, and hopefully Flogging Molly on Valentine's Day. It's appropriate since I love them.

Obviously, as many people have stated, The Pogues are incredible. Definitely check out The Tossers. Amazing band if you're looking for music in that genre. Buy or download Communication & Conviction: The Last Seven Years, for starters. I love that album.
