I was talkin to a buddy of mine the other day, and hes into recording stuff seriously, and I was talkin to him about getting an 8 to 12 channel mixer so that I can have more inputs for some more mics and instruments, right now, my mixer is a stereo 5 channel, with two 1/4" ins, and 3 RCA ins. Right now, until I get a CD burner, im recording onto a tape deck because my computer is too crappy to record on to. He was saying that I should just get one of those 4 track recorders so I can record different tracks and put them together. For those with experience with 4 tracks, would this be a wise decision to get one, because ebay has some great deals on those, or should i go with a new mixer, so I can record more?

In your situation, I would rather go for the mixer. 4-tracks aren't the greatest.

I think I'm going to 123 this thread. Just because I can. What are you gunnna do mods? lol.

No seriously go for the mixer because 4 tracks can get pretty shady espcially if this 'buddy of yours' doesn't line up and mix your tracks correctly.
