View Full Version : Dead Meadows
I downloaded 'Shivering King and Others' not that long ago. It's an ok album, I like it but I could see myself getting bored of it pretty fast. Anyone else listen to them? Any fun facts to share?

The band changed their sound a bit in their recent release, Feathers. It's a lot more listenable than their older material since they pretty much ditched their stoner rock (with the exception of the last track) + whiny vocals style (the guy's voice is less whiny now at least), and imo, their best so far.

Which albums have you heard from the Dead Meadow you're referring to?

Yeah, I've recently become a fan of these chaps. I personally prefer their older stoner style (well, I've only heard Shivering King and Feathers, so I only have one old stoner style album to base that on)... but you might dig Feathers more.
Cool. I'll check it out. I'm suprised they're not hated, since they are kind of a throwback band. And not a post-punk throwback band at that.

I'm listening to them now. I bought Feathers yesterday (their newest album). It lacks the funky, big *** riffs that their earlier releases have, which is kind of dissapointing, but it's dreamier, which is nice.
