F spaced Pickups r for Floyd Rose Type Bridges
as the strings r slightly spaced out more
the F Spaced pickups have their node things spaced out more so they go directly under the strings more than a normal pickup

Alright, as normal I'm going to bypass all the confusing explaining crap and get down to business!
Take a ruler, and measure across your strings from E to e where the bridge pickup is. If it's 51mm you don't need F-spacing, if it's 53mm you do need F-Spacing. Do the same thing with any humbucker space on your guitar. A lot of people don't really care about putting them in past the bridge, I mean it doesn't make that much of a sound difference in real life... it's mostly just in theory.
As far as I know single coil pickups have never needed to be F-Spaced.
