Hi, i was wondering whether anyone knew how to upload sound clips to web pages. If you have any suggestions, they are much appreciated.
Cheers:chug:

any particular web page or just onto the internet?
thers any number of file hosting sites (google it till you find what you want).... otherwise there are a lot of very good free music hosting/band page sites... such as purevolume.com, soundclick.com, myspace.com, etc.
Otherwise it depends on where your trying to host it... if you have some web space with a host you can upload it in the same way you'd upload a page or graphic onto the server

yep all the ones i listed provide some kind of free service... there great for sharing your music and trying to promote it.... a band i used to be in was discovered by a music promoter when he was just browsing through purevolume... got us a load of gigs at some pretty nice places and a few festivals, and a free session at a studio owned by some friends of his... probably wasnt a good idea when we all decided to follow our other bands and side projects but ya no
If you've got a few demos recorded go n stick them on all those kinda sites, along with an adress to a website or some web space of yours so they can find more about you if they want... you'll find a lot of artists (even those who are really well established) have a load of these kind of accounts set up by their freinds or promoters (depending on the band)

well purevolume.com and sounclick.com are probably two of the biggest... both are pretty straightforward to set up and provide a decent service (purevolume gives you a pretty good profile you can set up and upload 5 tracks i think), soundclicks similar but not quite as detailed... although it does have a huge internet chart which is good for promotion.
myspace.com is more of a community thing, but can be good to get your name around locally - a lot of people have personal myspace accounts which you can add as your friends and get your name and music around.
then theres a few smaller sites like audiostreet.net - most of these are much smaller but it might be worth just creating an account and then leaving it - you never know whos gonna be looking at it

Ok, cheers! Me and my band are recording a demo in early january, so i can prob put some of the songs on one of the sites (probably purevolume). Oh just one more thing, what format do the files have to be in to upload them?

depends on the site.... but all will accept a stereo mp3 file... which is a pretty standard format for final recordings so shouldnt be a problem.
make sure you post them when you've got that demo done!

Yeah will do, you'll enjoy it if you like jazz/funk/latin stuff.
