Well, I'm getting about 350$ for Christmas, and I've been wanting to get something to record with, that doesn't require the use of a computer. But I also need to be able to put them on CDs, the songs I record that is.

So I was thinking about getting one of these digital recording "workstations" -

or

Those look good to me, and they are in my price range.
But then again, I'm a complete newbie at this kind of stuff, and I was hoping for some help on looking for a good Digital recorder.

So, are there any other Digital Multi-track Recorders that are better than these, but still in my price range? Are those in the links I gave you even good?

I need all the help I can get, and thank you in advnance.

Do you realise that neither of those workstations burn CDs on their own? They both have USB connections however so they can transfer audio to your PC, then burn the audio from there. They are both decent recorders, I just don't think they fit what you've stated as your needs.

I know that. I have no problem with that.

I would just like to record things without having to use my computer for everything, since my computer isn't that good at all. And I can use this thing in alot of different places, so I don't have to lug my computer around along with my equipment.

Okay, in that case I recommend the second one, it has a 40gb harddrive, as opposed to the 128mb compact flash card in the first one.
