I think you'll find the majority of tab sites are down.

You see, the MPA has chosen to take action and do a massive crackdown against the copyright infringement that inofficial tabs are presenting; tabs are unauthorised reproductions of copyrighted works and hence illegal.

Until everything is sorted out, mxtabs (and many others) will continue to be down. The guys are working on a solution but how credible one is, we can't tell.

Actually, I don't think MX is down because of the crackdown. I think they are having horrible server problems, and it works 50/50 for some people, and it never works for me. Try you luck, I guess.

True, but it's no biggy.

Nah, Hutch, it is definitely down due to the crackdown. Jeremy said so in the Site section of the forum... it won't be working for anyone.

All the power to you then.

Plus, it is not only the rich artists who are losing money. There are tons of artists across the nation, though not very famous, who are losing money. My guitar teacher knew a guy who made $50,000 a year from sheet music and recording loyalties, then the internet came along, the guy only made $1,000 a year, now he has to get a job. So keep in mind that this is effecting everyone who publishes music.

You can still search for powertabs on google, powertabs.net isn't the only place they were hosted.

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=eric+johnson+power+tab&btnG=Google+Search&meta=

etc

Plus, you might still be able to use the google cache.

If I want to learn a Motion City Soundtrack song and get a tab for it, I'm not hurting anyone. I've checked for sheet music. It doesn't exist. Why stop me from getting a free transcription then?
