Alright, before i get my stuff like cubase, a new comp, interfaces and whatnot, I Just want to make as much out of what i can now.
1)Audacity
2)Windows Sound Recorder
3)Computer Microphone.
4)Guitar
5)Guitar Pro
Alright, here is how i record so far (layering)
Programme Bass and drum in GP4.
Play the song, and record with my mic from the comp speakers
Save the song.
Open the song on Winamp, then use it as a reference to record the guitar tracks. Then the same for vox and leads.
I mix them altogether and i get one big pile of mess..
Any help?

okay first make the drum track and bass if you wish. Know what your song sounds like and have it all planned out before you do this stuff. Then take the bass and drum file and export it to a sound file, proboably wav. (I dont use guitar pro, so im not that sure.) Then open Audacity and put that wav. file into it. Next record your guitar into it. Use headphones for the sound out on the speakers so it doesn't bleed in to the other tracks. The reason I told you to do it this way is so you can use the drums for a beat to play along to. Another thing you can do is use Kristal. If you know the BPM. of the song, then you can set a click track that you can listen to with your headphones and then record to that beat. Then you will have perfect timing. Next you are going to have to move the guitar track down to fight the latency. So do that. It will line up perfectly with the timing on top, if you played everything in time. This should help it sound way better. Sorry if this is sorda confusing.

It ain't. Too bad GP4 can't export as anything except MIDI i think. Wav needs to be recorded too.

Its going to sound like a big pile of mess no matter what you do.
A computer microphone will give you no more, no less.

1- Export the guitar and bass from GP4 into a midi file
2- Open the midi file in Audacity
3- Record guitar over it using your mic
4- Clean the noise and hiss using Adobe Audition
5- Record vox over the exported mp3 (from Adobe Audition)
6- Save and export the mp3
7- Clean this one again with Adobe Audition
8- Enjoy an okay-sounding mp3.

1- buy a better microphone, a $25 dynamic should do fine.
2- run it line in or use a cheap mixer.
3- have better sounding mp3s without a load of editing.

You really don't wanna be recording your stuff out of your computer speakers through a computer microphone.. find a way to export to audio within the machine. When you have some dosh fuzzyhair up here has 2 good tips. Funny how everyone uses precisely the figure 25$..
