Any fans?

I personally love the band and especially such songs as: Special K, Every you Every me, and Big mouth strikes again.

I like a few of their songs, occasionally... but en masse, they whine me to death.

I like The Bitter End, Special K, Every You Every Me, a few others I can't seem to think of. Not bad every now and then.

I've heard one song by them and couldn't remember how it goes, so they dont interest me.

"Bigmouth Strikes Again" is a good song, but the credit for it must go to the Smiths.

I would agree that Placebo is good in small doses.

I love them, in reasonable doses, they can get annoying after a while.
Every Me, Every You is a great song... This Picture is another of my favourites.

Teenage Angst is one of their best tracks. I've seen them live a whole bunch of times and they totally rock...their music translates really well live because it's very rhythmical. Lots of other bands sound mushy live...but Placebo rock. If anything they don't quite get their live energy onto record. I rarely like a live performance more than the studio track...but with Placebo their live performances have always blown me away. I once saw them in a pub in Bristol playing to about 15 people and they still played their socks off. I knew then that they'd break into the music scene.

Sleeping with Ghosts is a great album. If I was going to recommend a first album to buy/listen to then I think this would be it.

They have a new album out this year.

Since my last post in this thread, I have changed my views on Placebo. I got their cd of the singles, and it's pretty damn sweet. I listen to it heaps. I'd love to see them live!

Once More With Feeling is a good compilation. I can't stand much more though.

Hey Damien. It's Travis from Nougat.

And I should get those 2 albums, they're the only ones I don't have...

Without You I'm Nothing is pretty great, really. The rest of their stuff is ignorable.

Yeah, I can't really stand them.

I liked Without You I'm Nothing when it was released but I lost interest soon after that.

I've only heard 'Special K' and I thought it was extremely hard to listen to. I don't know, I'm not much of a fan of the vocals and there is just something about the music that makes it extremely hard to listen to. But I've only heard one track so what do I know?

I love their first 2 albums. Black market music was ok, but i've completely lost interest in their newest offerings. They're a bit like foo fighters to me, they seem to have got more bland over time.

I'm going to listen to their self titled album right now in fact.

Without You I'm Nothing is the only album I own by them - pretty good but it can get VERY annoying after a while.

I've already heard their upcoming album "Meds." they pretty much sound the same, but it's still worth a listen if you're a placebo fan. they're steering towards the "electronic" thing, adding drum machines and synths whenever they can.

all in all, it's good. but can be a whole lot better.
