So, I got a 50 dollar Barnes and Noble Giftcard. In other words, 4 fusion/jazz cds.

1. Miles Davis - Kind of Blue
2. Monk's Dream
3.
4.

No clue about 3 and 4. Possibly Howe/Wooten/Chamber's Extraction (Even though its somewhat pricy), but I don't know about the other one.

Jazz/Fusion collection is extremely limited right now. Heavy Weather, Dave Weckl Band Live and Plugged in, and Jaco.

Yeah, stickies and all, but that doesn't help much. I need stuff that will help me get into jazz/fusion more. Some classics and such.

Try Herbie Hancock's Headhunters and Miles Davis' In A Silent Way for some more fusion. Some Mahavishnu Orchestra (Birds of Fire or The Inner Mounting Flame are both safe bets) would be good too.

Try Jaco Live in new york. Mahavishnu Orchestra is also a great choice.

I don't know if this is considered fusion, but if you're a drummer you'll probably love:

lee ritenour - feel the night

steve gadd is amazing on that album. I especially like french roast and feel the night. For sound samples check out

Yes, very much so, Steve Gadd is phenomenal in all of his albums, the one that you pointed out is no exeption. An amazing drummer indeed.

How about, you don't spend all that money.

If you can't figure otu what you want, besides those two CDs, then don't buy anything yet. Don't force yourself to buy stuff. I made that mistake. I bought, Heavy Weather.
