John Darnielle is better than 95% of today's lyricists. Sunset Tree was a nice album, much better than We Shall all Be Healed.
Not like, but love.
No children is a great song.

They're quite entertaining live, very campfire-ish, but I can give/take listening to an album.

I've had Tallahassee for a while and I still haven't given it a really good listen. The guy reminds me so much of Colin Meloy's singing style.

This is very true. I cannot encourage people enough to download the song "Going to Georgia," on their ~1994 album Zopilote Machine, because it ranks up there as one of the best single songs ever written.
The Sunset Tree is a very awesome and terribly underrated album as well.
I enjoy Tallahassee very much. I think it's magnificent both lyrically and sonically.

I'm quite into the Mountain Goats, although I don't actually have any of their albums. I'll have to get some though, I like all the songs songs I've downlaoded so far.

I have Tallahassee, All Hail West Texas and The Sunset Tree. Every one of them is great. I can honestly say I'm yet to hear a song I don't like by them.
