This Friday is the 13th anniversay of Eddie's death. In his memory, follow the link below for the most touching and heartfelt footage about Eddie's last few days, and the enormous love that still exists for him as told by two of his closest friends Billy Spruill and Kevin Goins.

If you don't know who this man is I strongly suggest you download the song "Maggot Brain". Seriously might be the greatest solo I've ever heard. Nice tribute, he's one of my favorite guitarists.

Didn't he die in the 70's though? It'd be far past the 13th anniversary........

I tought he died in the early nineties?

EDIT-
On December 23, 1992, Hazel died from internal bleeding and liver failure, after a long struggle with stomach problems. Some material was released posthumously. The band Ween recorded a tribute to him called A Tear for Eddie on their album Chocolate And Cheese, imitating his unique soloing style. "Maggot Brain" was played at his funeral.

That was great. You are putting up some great videos recently, I really admire you guys, and it must have been GREAT to talk to and play with those guys.

And, it's a nice tribute to Hazel, one of my favorite guitarists to ever play. Very nice. Wow.

Eddie was the original guitarist in Funkadelic and one of the greatest guitar players ever. He died in 1992 of complications for liver failure and other things. If you don't know who he is you have to do some research he played on hundereds (and wrote) hundreds of classic funk tunes outside of PFunk as well. For example "I Feel Sanctified" by the Commodores and many mnay more

Kevin is the front man of our band so we play with all the Plainfield legends all the time and yes it is a wonderful experience. We have all learned more about how to play good funk in the last 6 months since we've been playing with Kevin than we ever had before.

For all the guitar players......right hand damp everything, thats how to give it that swing
