Apathetic little ****

cbmartinez
03-12-2006, 12:19 PM
That kind of is the point of a forum, torn. To make a thread about a band you discovered and try to get other people into them. True, every other post shouldn't be like "SEND ME PLZ" but the point of the forum is to introduce. I wouldn't call that spoonfeeding.

tornpictures
03-12-2006, 12:57 PM
I disagree.

It IS spoonfeeding because people ARE all SEND ME PLZ and don't make any effort whatsoever to check out bands themselves or look for the music.
Also, most kids here are completely apathetic about most things around the music (the things that MAKE the music!), etc.
The kids with the biggest mouths (no names) are the laziest and the most critical. So ****ing childish.

cbmartinez
03-12-2006, 01:20 PM
Yeah, I get what your saying. Most of the kids here just wait around for people to give them bands when they should be contributing by looking for themselves.

Assuming all people here are real and not just computers, I think it IS a real problem.

Look man, not to be a dick, but you seem like one of those fashion scene kids. Here today, gone tomorrow. You could also just get a little more into it and not see the music as something disposable, as a product, as something you can buy somewhere and exchange if you still have the receipt. So much love went into most of this music, that's what separates it from alot of other bands/genres. 90% of people (not only here but also just typical show-going kids) just don't get this or don't care. They say 'I hate the scene' with typical scenester stoicism, thinking they're the ****.
Again, correct me if I'm wrong and this definitely isn't just directed at you.

I guess I do all my 'discovering' on these forums. I sometimes search for similar artists, but most of the time people 'round here know them already. A big thank you to the people who succeed in finding great (and very unknown :p ) music, but you can't expect everyone to be on a constant search for new greatness to fill these forums.
I think there are a lot of people like me who kinda 'leech off' of the forum, but isn't that the point? the spreading of excellent music to people who appreciate it?
If that is spoon feeding, give me another spoon...

pixiesfanyo
03-13-2006, 08:52 AM
yeah, but if you're a member of a community like this you should try to contribute, and not just be one of those people who goes into every thread and says. this band is good, this band released a good 7" this band is good. make people aware of new music.

For those who want to know:
The first 7", entitled FTRRM, should be out in a few weeks. Pre-orders are now taken at either www.adagio830.de or www.apemustnotkillaperecords.com
The second 7", part of the single series, should be out sometime during the spring on ape must not kill ape records and from a strangers hands records.
They have a short song on the Emo Apocalypse compilation LP on react with protest (www.reactwithprotest.org)

On a related note, all members also play in Catena Collapse which has a brand new 12" out now on Adagio830 and Release The Bats (www.releasethebats.com) entitled "rai rai rai / outback songs". They will tour the UK later this month.

Websites for both bands are down at the moment, but both can be contacted through LilacSky records (www.lilacsky.com)
