I recently got a new Musicman Sub and I play chili peppers alot, but it seems I cant get that soft punchy sound out of slapping like most basses do. Wehn I slap its really tinny and you can really hear when I slap the string, like it hitting other fretts like if I were muting while slapping. Is there a way to mess with the action to make it go away? I would take it to a pro but what should i tell em?

Sounds like you need to roll off some treble.

less treble, more bass. experiment with your eq untill you find something you like. (i think fleas tone is realy trebely any way)

not really, ok this is how i get flea's tone on higher ground sounds almost exactly like the cd version.

bass=6-7 mids=6-7 trebel=5 (i have a ibanez bass with 2 pups so this might not work for you, but the first part will) onboard bass=10 onboard treble=5 slightly more neck pup than neck.
