Songs are easy or hard depending on what suits your voice.
Merk has done several articles/threads on singing which should be of use to you... have a look here:
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=219911
http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=423937 should also assist with the use of your diaphragm (or as Merk says, "singing from the 'gut' ").
There also used to be a singing 101 - which you can find at http://www.musicianforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=166901
Good luck mate :thumb:.
Warm up everytime you practice, and read those threads in the previous post, they will prove to be helpful.
As for "easy songs", it really depends on finding a song that matches you vocal tone, of course you can sing a long to anything you wish.
Yellowcard songs are pretty easy, try something that is acoustic.
