now, I'm not a really strong slaper yet, and my bass has pretty high action. but when i got to guitar center and play basses with low action, its way hard for me to slap. is this this true for every one, or do i just need to get better at slapping?

It's just because you aren't used to it. My bass has really low action, so when I play high action basses, I almost crap myself because I sound like sh*t.

I wouldn't say 5 minutes ... but if you lowered the action on your bass, youd be used to it in a couple days.

Yeah. My action is really low also, and I have a hard time slapping on basses with action that's noticably different.

your neck is worped then... streighten the truss rod, or have a music shop do it... if thats not the case you have Shi**y frets, and id file thoughs SOBs. Because when you slap on a bass with high action it take more energy and a lil more time for you to hit the fret to get the slap tone, so it put you at a small hadicap...

Trying lowering your action a little bit each day instead of a lot all at once.

i used to play with high action...then i put it low to learn some tapping stuff, once you get used to it low, you'll get the hang of it, and be slapping those strings like a motha

i like low action, i barly have to touch my strings to get them to hit the fretboard. it helps that i have a really light touch
