possibly save up or lease one or get one put on layaway
also have you tried the two pedals in stores
get what you like the feel of the most not just limiting to your budget
buying on a budget and then replacing later just costs more
taking the time to save up and getting what you really want is also a great feeling cause you earned it

I believe DrumPhil uses sonor 400s. I had a single that came with my 3005; for a single chain pedal, it felt awfully good. I haven't ever used the Jr., but I liked the 400. The 400 also has a double-sided beater, and I know my Iron Cobra doesn't...not sure about the current Jr. model on the beater, but I think it's just the one sided felt beater...so if you wanted a rubber or plastic one, go for the 400 for sure.
the IC jr.s are actually pretty good. I owned one for a while then switched back to single pedal then am back on double again. Look into DW7000's too.

I'm saving up for the 7000s.

Wonderful pedals for the money. Hopefully I'll get enough Christmas money to buy em at a boxing day sale.

Nice. I got some old piece of crap Pearl direct drive with a shot spring right now. I'm amazed I can do 8ths as fast as I can with it.
I'd go and trade something in for the pedal, but the 7002s worth about as much as my kit is.

well im guessing everyone is for the 400 so shall i go for it.......?
Id say they are pretty much on par with one another, but two totally different pedals in terms of design.

I have the IC Jr, just because I got it for a really cheap price. I actually like it alot. When I get the money I'll probably get an IC or look into some of the DW's.

I own IC Jr's. They are good enough for me and I have it hit some good speeds with them. I havent owned any other pedals other than a 20 year old tama one so i can't really compare them but they seem to have a fair amount of adjustments.
