Not meaning to bash you dude, but it would be easier to go down to a music shop and just have a look atwha they have.

I don't know what the price of cables is generally where you are, but HOSA is always a good way to go.

Also the search function is your freind...

I buy most of my stuff online, the closest decent music store is a 45 min drive which i dont feel like making just for a cable, so im trying to make it easier on myself by asking what people think...also music stores (sam ash) just want your money

Alright, point taken, as i said, HOSA make awsome cables and from memory arent too expensive.

Make sure you buy a few so you'll always have spares if you lose one/ get an effect etc.

i'd go with monstor. They have the golden tips which are supposed to give you a pure unmessed tone. If you can't afford the real monstor cables, they do have a budget line. The beautiful thing about monstor cables is that they have a full warrantee (budget line included). You can the cable over with an 18 wheeler, piss on it, and wipe your *** with it, and still get a a brand new cable when you turn it in(as long as it has the monstor name on it still). It's a pretty sweet deal. Spend a little more and you'll never actually have to purchase another cable. I've never had to return one though. They're meant to last a really long time.

I made myself some cables. I bought really good stuf from maplin (dont know what the US equivalent is), and soldered them up myself for far less than commercial cables.

As long as you have the kit and a little soldering knowledge then I think making cables up yourself works fine (although I know plenty of people think otherwise), the most important thing is the connectors - the need to have some sort of clamping mechanism that grips the cable (neutrik make great connectors), that way tension on the cable doesnt strain the solders.

If you buy decent components and solder them up at least ok-ish, the cable will be just as good as anything commercial, just far cheaper.

monster, you can pull a car out of a ditch with it and it will still work. if not they will replace it. and yes they are worth the $50

^Monster does have the lifetime garuntee? if so i'll buy those cuase i need new cables badly... but they're so expensive, i cant really afford to buy new ones every so often.....

What other brands have the lifetime garuntee?... and how exactly does it work? just take a cable to the store and swap it out for a new one and leave?....

a lot of cables have lifetime garentee, but most aren't worth getting the replacement. monster on the other hand will almost never break, but if they do they are worth replacing. i have a few $15 cords and they have lifetime warrentes, when they broke i just throw them out. they are too cheep to send them back on my own penny. also i think that monster will pay for the shipping, trust me its worth spending $50 on a good cords

well monstor thinks their cables are meant to last a lifetime. So, if you prove them wrong, they'll replace it. Meaning, if you ahve a cable of theirs that breaks, they'll replace it because it's not supposed to break.

so you're saying not all stores want your money? i wonder why they started a business...

im tryin to say that the music stores ive been to, like sam ash will try to get you to buy the most expesive thing possible without telling you wha each brand has to offer, because they only care about your money...obviously music stores started to make money but some care about the customers' needs too
