I'm looking for a set drum mics for my drumset (5 piece Pearl Export w/ 2 Crash cymbals, 1 hi-hat, 1 china, and 1 ride) within the $100-$200 range. I need a mic set that will work with my Eurotrack UB1202FX (http://www.musiciansfriend.com/srs7/g=rec/search/detail/base_pid/631236/) mixer. I'm not looking for super-high quality mics, but mics that will allow me to record some demos with my band.

get 2 omni-directional mics and record your kit in stereo. It requires less mics, cables, preamps, and stands, as well as space, so you can drum bettah, sound bettah.

Omni-directional mics have better in-phase response across the spectrum and better low frequency response so your kick will sound huge and the cymbals will sound up-close and clean.

albums like Superunknown - Soundgarden, and Bonham (Led Zeppelin) tracks are mostly omni overheads in the mix.

Then if you have any money later on you can throw a AKG D112 on the kick, and a SM57 or maybe an EV or Sennheiser on the snare batter.

This is absolutely perfect for you. I've heard recordings with these mics; you'll be blown away by how good they are for the price. Great value. Plus, I hear the condensers work very well for recording guitar and bass guitar.

if you cant afford the high quality stuff i dont think you should record, you dont want to hand in a demo with anything less than the best sound quality otherwise its not gonna do you any good...and if you hand in a second demo guess what there gonna say..."hey these kids already handed a demo in, it was crap"
