I simply ask this because my brother wants to learn how to play System of a down songs...but I doubt he will stick to it(videogames FTW!). Does anyone have any experience with these and are they decent at best? Or perhaps any other alternatives that won't break $200.

personally, I don't like them. For under 200, you should just get a fender squire pack.

even if you don't stick to the guitar. When you quit ( if you do) you wont be able to re-sell a cheap sears guitar. but if you buy something with a name, least you will be able to get some of the cash back. even if it is from that strange kid down the road..

its a Ibanez, so its the same name guitar the player from System of a down played with. comes with a 10W amp, guitar strap, electronic tuner, padded gig bag, wooden guitar stand, picks, cable, and instructional DVD.

under 200.

Yeah, the GAX series is great.

I have a GAXB bass, it beats any other instrument in the price range.

I disagree. Yamahas are of the best value guitars and basses out there. I would go with a Yamaha Pacifica package. It may be a bit more expensive, but you're getting your money's worth.

my friends sister had one of those first act guitars and it was in a state that made it impossible to hold tune. Gross. Dont get it.

Me? My dad got me this samick strat, and it is better built than my freinds squier (crappier pickups though) and has held up for probably about 7 years now. Had to replace the nut, but it was only like 9 dollars or something for a graphite nut.

Id recommend the ibanez pack, or the squier isnt too bad. Comes with everything you would need to play.

Agreed. Look at all the quality stuff at wallmart.

Wally world gets the lowest quality items from eveyone it buys from.

Always low prices. Always.
