i went to guitar ceneter last night, and i played an older warwick corvette standard, with a thinner neck, and i fell in love, and it was only 600. but i just got a musicman sub stingray, and i love it too. should i sell the sub and buy the warwick, even though i havent had it more than a week?

okay, if you had said a real musicman, I would have had to think harder, but you're referring to an SUB.... Honestly, I've found the SUB's to be pretty poor quality I'm sorry to say. On top of that, older Warwicks (anything pre-dating 1998) thoroughly own Warwicks that were made post-1997. So my vote would go towards the Vette, but keep in mind that those are very different sounding and feeling basses.

SUB basses=garbage.

Edge, you need to stop worrying what people think of you. "Umm, guys..I'm sorry but I know everything. I'M SO SORRY GUYS OMG PLZ DONT HATE ME."

You gotta get in there, Edge. Shove your mighty dick of bass-gear knowledge right in their faces. Be like "MY NAME IS EDGEBASS, HEAR ME ROAR!" Then roar, really loudly. Just to get into character.

I would take the warwick I've been very disapointed by all the musicmans I've tried.

that's a good price for a pre 98 warwick, get it
plus, MM Subs feel so strange, like the body is coated with sandpaper or something

Is the only difference on the post 1997 warwicks the fretboard, or is there something else as well? I'm pretty sure mine is post 1997, but I'm not sure of the exact year.

I believe pre-1997 Warwicks had thinner necks made completely out of Wenge. More recent ones have fatter necks made of Ovangkol with a Wenge fingerboard. Also I think people say electronics were better.

^^^Well there's that, but I've never heard anything regarding the electronics. They used the same electronics then as they do now.

The other difference was that back then Warwick did most of its assembly/construction by hand, in 1998 they switched to a largely automated process. So, with the older ones you get a thinner neck made of wenge, and more hand-built quality.

yeah, i told him hat, and he said i was being greedy and i would need to buy it with my own money, not by selling my gift. so yeah, i want to put a downpayment on it and then get a better job. and since im single, i dont have to get more stuff for my girl.

Technically, you're 18, you're doing this out of kindness. Just depends on if you want to hurt his feelings or not, something like that.

But I'd say the Warwick is by far the better instrument.

Yah! Hand-built quality...like Wishbass!

Sorry, what with the wishbass thread and all, I couldn't help myself...

Warwick. No doubt in my mind.

Though I'd take a Warwick Thumb over either one...
