oh yeah, i forgot about linkin park! I used to love them. I think that was my first concert. I tried to listen to hybrid theory again like a year ago and i dont remember why i liked them. There songs are generic as hell.

I still listen to some of the bands I used to listen to. I still like Thrice, Thursday, and Weezer (minus Beverly Hills, I hate that song but Make Believe is better than the Green Album).

Rap, Numetal, Rap/rock when I was in elementary school
6th grade I got into Black Sabbath and what not
7th-8th was all classic rock. Floyd and Zeppelin and the like.
9th I got into more punk. Leftover Crack, Dead Kennedys, etc. Later in the year I got into hardcore (around December/January). First bands I was into were Ramallah, GB, In My Eyes, Ten Yard Fight

I think i might be one of the only people not to go through a classic rock stage. My friend used to love metallica, now he's all pink floyd. Still classic, but waaaay better than metallica.

12-16-2005, 04:04 PM
I like Pink Floyd. I think they're a more interesting band than Ac/Dc or Led Zeppelin.

4th grade - Smash Mouth, random pop compilation cds
5th-7th grade - Linkin Park, alternative rock/numetal
8th grade - went from pop-punk to street punk type stuff, and Minor Threat, Suicidal Tendencies
and then in 9th grade I started listening to mainly hardcore.

Usher and Nelly were cool in 5th grade.
Middle school I was into stuff like Red Hot Chili Peppers, Link Park, Limp Bizkit, stuff like that. Somewhere along those lines I was introduced to Metallica, that was my first "real" metal band, if you will. AFI and Rage Against the Machine were also big bands for me in 8th grade. I was naive toward heavier music, I tried Atreyu and liked it at the moment. Other bands that I tried out at that time were As I Lay Dying, Unearth, Avenged Sevenfold and stuff like that. MX happened, I got my head out of my *** and realized that there was better music. Bane was the first hardcore band I listened to, I loved the punk vibe of it and the aggressiveness of metal. That was about 9th grade. From then on I got into a lot of other hardcore and metal stuff like Converge, Down to Nothing, Blacklisted, Champion, etc.

Bleh. I'm lame for posting this, but I'm bored.

elementary - all that 90s alternative stuff that was on the radio at the time

middle school through 11th grade - stuff they played on the local rock stations

12th grade - thursday!! found full collapse over the summer before 12th grade (2001) and that changed everything

end of 12th grade through first couple years of college - all of the similar stuff- thrice, hopesfall, rise against

a year and a half ago started getting into emo/screamo because of this forum, and thats where i'm at today

its crazy to see some of you guys' whole histories as a couple years, ending in like 8th grade. thats awesome. i wish i was into this music when i was you guys' age. saetia wasn't even around yet! i could have seen so much.
