I've played a few crap Corts and a few that are passable, draw your conclusions. Not great, but better than a margarine tub strung with rubber bands.

Talk to HaVIC and JoZ. They own Cort Curbow 6ers.

yes, they're a cut above the rest, even the Artisan series, but still not "wowers" by any means. Very unique though, but they feel weird and look pretty ugly.

i own a cort A5. absolutely fantastic bass, the value you get fro what you actually pay is remarkable. i personally have no complaints with regards to be bass apart from when i first got it the weight was a bit of an issue (went from a squire to the cort). as for other peoples impressions the only complaint i have heard is some say the neck seems a little thin in the width department but works great for me as i have shortish fingers.

as for the construction, the woods used give the bass a great tone and the build quality is very good. the whole active passive switch comes in usefull depending on what you feel like tone wise.

my overall impression be it somewhat biased would be a 8 and a half 9 out of 10 for the bass.

Conclusion: a great bass, pick yourself up one.

just a side note, what other basses are you considering?

I've played an artisan series.. i cant remember if it was an A or B series, but which ever it was... it was AMAZING... i loved that bass so much, it felt so great in my lap and the tones i got out of it were so awesome... For the price it was really great, i'd really love to pick one up sometime..
