I havent posted alot around here but I do alot of lurking. I am finaly in a position where I can afford a bass that fits my ear better than what I have and Im looking for suggestions.

I have a peavey Milestone 3 and I hate the tone of it but it was a gift so I play it. I play mostly classic rock and jazz so Im looking for something that has lots of lows and mids but can be used to do other things if needed. I like the sound of the euro bolt-ons from spector with the pickups set to full neck, 1/4 bridge, and the bass knob set 1/8 above off. nice warm smooth sound with very little treble.

aside from this bass does anyone else have any suggestions on what to try in the 1500us range?

you could look into a custom? I'm not quite sure how much $1500 is in £

If you're looking for a bass with lots of lows, I think a Fender precision might be good (but certainly not for me).

maybe Ill look into a custom (thinking winters). I really dont like fender P basses they just dont have all the tone control that I want they are either on or off with the only shapeing in how much treble you have.

If you like the Spector, why not get one ?

I have one and am very happy with it.

indeed... but, for that kind of money.... i'd rather a Warwick instead of Spector.... atleast the euro series, they're uncomfortable for me..... meh..
