Well I just had my winter concert yesturday, and it went pretty good. I was able to arrange weather report's teen town for our jazz band. It was a lot of fun, and surprisly my teacher said it got a lot of good comments from people. I was glad I was able to pull it off. Discuss songs you played a important role for your schools/bands concert.

i just had my concert on tuesday. IT went well. I played electric bass in trhe choir, and my own group, and the concert band. I also played standup bass in teh school jazz band. I'll have good quality recordings of a few songs up in a couple days.

I fvcking hate that! The place where we rehearse is a cold basement and I can't do nearly as good there as when I'm playing the same thing at home. I guess pick players have easier lives.

Unfortunately I've never heard anyone play it with the same feel as him. He just has way too much natural funk.
I wish I was black sometimes.

My band had a show last night... The high school wind ensemble, we had a christmas concert. We played Sleigh Ride, And The Angles Called, and Christmas Festival.
It was amazing... So amazing... I play tenor sax. in christmas festival we play the background to silent night, it's like us and the low brass. and the angels called is SO AMAZING!!! i loved it... and sleigh ride was ok, but i have no time to breathe or anything
today we had jazzband rehearsal, i play tenor 2. that was sweet too...
and tuesday the wind ensemble's playing at the two elementary schools in the school system... we miss 5 of 7 periods of school :D
oh yea... in band today, we played Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.... it's amazing!!! its like four pages and has four different parts or songs or whatever... in the main theme, the tenors have the melody! it's amazing.... we play new time signatures and all sorts of difficult stuff... but itll get easier...
at the concert, we're gonna have a projectore playing scenes of the movie... we'll have all the lights off, and use standlights... i cant wait

my band just had a concert on monday night...it was pretty sweet. i played bass along with the swing choir on winter wonderland and over the river.
i also played in the jazz band. well, its not really a jazz band, considering we barely have any people (just a complete rhythm section - drums, bass, and guitar) one tenor sax, three trumpets and one alto sax. so what we did was we played some small little arrangements (revelation and mr. pc) and we basically just played the melody a couple times then went off into improv solos. it was sweet
my solo rocked
He has a whole song about when he wants to get funky. So yes, he's definitely got the funk.
only sometimes?
Only when I want more funk, or when I want to get away with speaking in ebonics.

One time, I was at a Pentecostal church and their bassist DT'd Amazing Grace. It was the first time I had ever seen anything like that, I may've been discouraged if that guy hadn't been playing for around fifty years.

My xmas concert went poop lol. We did mustang sally by eric clapton, and before I went on stage i used a mates tuning machine, wasnt a chromatic one, but anyway, i used it and when i started there was this really BAD noise and i thought "wtf is that... oh wait its me!!!" the piece of **** tuned me down half a step lol... but that wasnt so hard to compensate for. But a set back none the less. Oh yeh, and during my bass solo, i got to a point, forgot what the next chord was so i just played something and it sounded like satan. I didnt mean to, but i stopped and said "oh ****s sake" and everyone laughed. i was just like "sorry lol" and carried on playing

For our School's speech night, the senior Jazz group did My Funny Valentine.
I played lead Tenor, which was the only part with the melody. It was basically a Tenor solo part the whole thing, including improv section. We played it at City Hall, infront of about 500-700 people I would say. It was pretty fun. A bit formal though, wearing blazers and ties. :(
Unfortunately, my bass career has led me to no such performance highs.
:chug:
I play that funky music

I had my Christmas concert on Wednesday, we were playing some jazz tunes out of the book and they're very cheesy but a lot of fun to play. But some bastard turned my volume knob on the amp down before the gig and the teacher only turned it slightly so my tone was horrible
